People think in order to have an active yoga practice that you must be doing 60 minutes of asana a day, take a pic for instagram, and then you’re doing yoga, right? Sooooo wrong. I am here to tell you that just doing THREE sun salutations, you can literally change your entire day. That’s approximately 4 minutes or so of yoga to actually feel a difference (and no, I’m not kidding).
Now, am I saying that’s the ONLY yoga or practice you should have? Absolutely not. There is so much more to the deep oceanic world of yoga that can take lifetimes to discuss. But we aren’t concerned about the goal, we’re concerned about being on the path. That is what matters, is the little tiny things that pull you along, and soon enough the small pull becomes a monsoon and the wave cannot be stopped. That is what walking the yogic path is. Once you start, it never stops.
Sun Salutations are my go-to when I don’t have time for a full practice but need to get my prana (life energy) flowing. I can feel when my energetic body is stagnant, and Sun Salutations (particularly in groups of 3, so try to stick with 3, 6, 9, 12, etc. when practicing rounds of them) are great at getting every corner of your body buzzing with fresh flowing energy.
