Hatha Yoga helps heal your mind, body, and spirit, which is why I have come to love it so incredibly much. I honestly have no idea where I’d be if I hadn’t found and incorporated yoga into my life. We as humans need these practices to maintain this physical body we have been gifted, and that is precisely what Hatha Yoga is here to do.

So many people (myself included) need help with clearing mental blocks and maintaining a healthy state of mind. One of my favorite ways to do that using Hatha Yoga is through both pranayama (deeply grounding breathing practices) and mantra meditations.
Pranayama for Mental Health: Practicing specific breathing practices depending on the desired outcome (ex: energize, relax, stress relief, etc.). These practices can include things like Kapal Bhati, Anulom Vilom, and conscious deep breathing. Check out this video of Kapal Bhati, my favorite for moving tension and stress out of the body, fast!
Meditations for Mental Health: I love using mantra meditations for stress relief, as the repetitive vibrations are soothing to the nervous system and help relax the body, mind, and soul. Check out my video here to learn how to begin your Om Mantra Meditation! Other types of meditation, like Pratyahar, visualizations, or Yog Nidra, can also be useful in tending to the mind.
Asana (or yoga postures) done in certain sequences can also greatly help relieve the mind, however I feel that pranayama and meditation also deserve their time in the spotlight! Want to learn more?
